Policies & Fees
If you are interested in any of our adoptable cats/kittens, please fill out our Google Form -based application, which will automatically be set to us.
This questionnaire helps us ensure this will be a successful adoption for you and the cat. There is no obligation to adopt when you fill out this form.
Once complete, our adoption team will review it. We will then invite you to set up an appointment to meet the kittens/cats you are interested in. Often we may recommend a few others to meet based on the criteria you outlined in the questionnaire.
Think of us a cat and kitten matchmakers!
Our standard adoption fee ranges from $75-$125. We will discount when two kittens/cats are adopted at the same time.
This fee includes spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV testing, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, deworming & flea treatment. We will supply you with copies of all medical records as well.
Our rescue volunteer will do a FaceTime home visit as part of the adoption process to answer any questions and to help ensure a smooth transition.

Adoption Criteria for Pink Paws For The Cause
At Pink Paws For The Cause, our mission is to ensure every cat and kitten finds a loving, safe, and stable forever home. To achieve this, we have established the following adoption criteria to prioritize the long-term well-being of our animals. All applicants are evaluated based on these standards, applied consistently and fairly to ensure the best possible outcomes for our cats.
Adoption Requirements
Commitment to Long-Term Care
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to provide consistent, high-quality care for the cat’s entire lifespan, which may exceed 15–20 years. This includes access to food, shelter, veterinary care, and a safe environment.Aftercare Plan
To ensure the cat’s welfare in unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, incapacity, or other life changes), applicants must provide a written aftercare plan. This plan should designate a responsible individual or organization who agrees to assume care for the cat if the adopter is no longer able to do so. The plan must include the designated caregiver’s contact information and a brief description of their ability to care for the cat.Stable Living Environment
Applicants must provide a safe and stable home suitable for a cat or kitten. This includes a pet-friendly residence (with landlord approval if renting) and no hazards that could endanger the animal.Veterinary and Financial Responsibility
Applicants must show they can afford routine and emergency veterinary care, including vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, and unexpected medical needs. Proof of financial stability may be requested (e.g., a brief statement of resources).Adoption Interview and Home Assessment
All applicants must participate in an interview with our adoption team to discuss their experience with pets, lifestyle, and plans for the cat’s care. A home visit or virtual assessment may be required to confirm the environment is suitable.Compliance with Local Laws
Applicants must agree to comply with all local animal welfare laws, including licensing, spay/neuter requirements, and humane treatment standards as outlined in California Penal Code § 597 and related statutes.
Application Process
Submit a completed adoption application, including details of your aftercare plan.
Participate in an interview with our adoption team.
Allow for a home assessment, if deemed necessary.

Notes
Pink Paws For The Cause reserves the right to deny any application if we believe the adoption would not be in the best interest of the cat or kitten, based on the above criteria.
All decisions are made with the goal of ensuring the animal’s long-term health, safety, and happiness.
We do not discriminate based on age, race, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics under California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act. Our criteria are designed to be fair and focused on the animal’s welfare.
